Hello, I am Giordano, the owner of Casa Cordati, and if you will choose my Guesthouse I’ll be happy to meet you.
Casa Cordati is a XVIIth century palace situated in the old part of Barga, a magnificent Renaissance town in the province of Lucca (35 km far from Lucca).
It is in the main street (via di Mezzo), which departs from the door of the ancient walls (porta Reale – Royal door), crossing all the old town and reaching the Differenti Theatre and the main square.
Bruno Cordati, my grandfather, is the painter whose exhibition you can visit during your stay.
Casa Cordati is only few metres far from the parking lots outside the walls.
Available for tourists: three rooms with private bathroom and a fully equipped apartment
New Room: it is a splendid room, situated on the second floor, restored just a few years ago. It has a private bathroom and a window with a marvelous view of the valley.
Big Room: it is a large (60 square meter) attic and to get to it you go through another large furnished attic with two hammocks and covered by part of the original (XVIIth century) roof. This is also available for guests. It is on the second floor.
Studio Rooms: it is an accommodation composed of a big room (which can be a double, triple or quadriple room), a single room, a hallway where you can prepare your breakfast and a bathroom. It’s situated on the first floor.
Apartment: Sleeping accomodation for 5, it’s composed by a fully equipped kitchen, a living room (which can easily be converted into a second bedroom ), a bedroom and a bathroom. In the bedroom there is a TV set and there is a washing machine in the bathroom.
Common areas: the garden and the turret (with great views from the windows). During your stay you can visit the exhibition of the painter Bruno Cordati. There are six rooms, on the first floor, with more than one hundred works ranging from the ’20s to the ’70s.
Brochures: wide availability of guides, maps and brochures of events in Barga area, rich of historical and natural places. In the hall there are postcards, reproductions of paintings and books related to the Cordati exhibition.
Near Casa Cordati there are bars (3) , restaurants (5), 2 wine bars, 2 wine shops, an ice cream parlour, a pub and a pizzeria. In the new part of the town, a five minutes walk, there are shops, 2 supermarkets, a grocery (local production: Caproni), the postal office and banks.
Rules: check in after 2pm – Check out before 11pm (earlier check in and later check-out are possible to arrange)
Pets: accepted, no extra charge.
Casa Cordati offers, for free, two mountain bikes
Opening time: March 1st – November 10th and from December 20th to January 10th.
